Beryllium PVD Diaphragm
Speed + Accuracy
The advanced 8.5mm beryllium diaphragm is central to this broad frequency of musical excellence. Beryllium diaphragms have a proven track record in the high-end home audio community. Our beryllium diaphragm showcases this performance and expands what is possible in personal audio.
The Lyra’s diaphragm is a beryllium surface applied via thermal physical vapor deposition to a 9 micrometers PET film substrate in a copper suspension. At just .0004 inches thick the Lyra driver delivers speed and musical accuracy from your source material from jazz to EDM.
Rare Earth Magnets
Neodymium rare earth magnets, the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available are utilized in the Lyra’s dynamic driver. This powerful and compact magnet ( 3.8mm x 1.2mm x 1.3mm) provides the magnetic field for the voice coil’s operation.
High Grade Voice Coil
High grade copper clad aluminum wire (CCAW) from Japan is used for the Lyra’s voice coil. Because the moving parts of a transducer must be of low mass to accurately reproduce high-frequencies, voice coils are usually made as lightweight as possible. CCAW is much lighter than pure copper alone, making it an excellent choice for the compact drivers. Paired with the low mass 9 micrometer diaphragm, the Lyra’s high frequency extension is exceptional.
Ultra High Density
The Lyra’s enclosure material is an ultra high density ceramic, Zirconium Oxide Ceramic (ZrO2). Used as an acoustic chamber, the physical properties of this ceramic carry excellent detail. Less distortion, extended high frequency and a natural tonality. It minimizes vibrations that could distort the driver’s sound if left unchecked.
Crafted With Care
It is a complex multi staged process to produce each earphone enclosure. The sintering process alone is 1400 degrees C for 72 hours in which the parts harden and shrink. The mixing of the ceramic material, granulation, injection molding and debinding all are required before the sintering process can begin. Afterwards each component is polished, assembled and examined for quality assurance of the final enclosure.
While the process is complex and more costly that other material, the acoustic benefits are without question. During our R&D phase of the Lyra development we produced shells of the identical design in a variety of materials, from polycarbonate to liquid metal. The result; there was no comparison to the ceramic in terms of sonic performance. The ceramic is tonally far more rich and much more natural than any of the other materials when used with the Lyra’s dynamic driver.
Peace of Mind
In addition to our own extensive testing were have additional tests performed through the independent testing facilities of SCS. SGS based in Switzerland, is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. The tests performed include; damp heat testing, salt spray, temperature humidity, oxidation, aging tests, and drop tests to ensure the long life of the product. Both SCS and CTI tested for substances of very high concern (SVHC). Knowing that the Lyra is free from any of these potentially harmful substances gives you the peace of mind to enjoy the music without concern for the materials used to produce them.

Silver Plated Copper
Our silver plated copper 4 conductor tinsel wire cable features a rugged FEP jacket. This material not only provides improved sonics, but eliminates oxidation of your earphone cable. The 4 conductors provide each channel its own signal and return. The cable terminates with an over-molded MMCX connector and standard 3.5mm stereo plug. The MMCX connectors are a custom-hardened beryllium/copper alloy. This means more insertion cycles than the common soft-brass MMCX connectors and a longer life for the cable. The Surgical grade memory wire allows you to maintain a comfortable and secure fit. Additional balanced 2.5mm cable available for purchase.
The strength of materials used in the Lyra make a typical hard plastic case is unnecessary. This freed us up to design a case we actually wanted to use. Inspired by vintage cases, our earphone case features softly molded corners, wide zippered opening and soft interior. It provides plenty of room for your earphones and cable to rest comfortably. It is also a size that fits easily in your bag with space to spare.

The Lyra ships with 3 earphone tip options. One set of silicon tips, one set of standard foam tips and one set of Comply tx-400 earphone tips assure that you will find a comfortable and secure fit. Each earphone tip provides its own sonic quality, so we encourage you to experiment with each to find the best match for your musical preference. A standard cleaning tool is also included with the accessories to keep your earphone in top condition.
